Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. John 14:21

Obedience, the Scary Word Essential for Spiritual Growth

Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. John 14:21Scary Word For the Day

For a lot of people “obey” is the proverbial four-letter word.

The stubborn selfish pride inside us does not like to be told to obey—even when we know it’s for our own benefit.

Parents can only truly teach children who obey their words.

Teachers can only teach students who do what they are asked, and a general can only lead soldiers to victory if those soldiers are promptly obedient. Jesus, who was fully God and fully man, laid aside His “rights” and was obedient.

A life of Christian faith is a life of obedience to God.

Allow God to teach you how to be sensitive and obedient to Him, to grow into new levels of faith and dependence on Him.
Pray that He will enable you to live a life of faith and loving obedience.

“Those who truly love me are those who obey my commands. Whoever passionately loves me will be passionately loved by my Father. And I will passionately love you in return and will manifest my life within you” (John 14:21 TPT).

“If you keep my commands, you will live in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands, for I continually live nourished and empowered by his love” (John 15:10 TPT).

Thank you Lord for enabling us to be obedient to You. Thank you Lord for helping us to surrender to Your Love.
